This year to celebrate E A R T H D A Y 🌎, we want to encourage you to get outside, enjoy the fresh air and get a workout in all at the same time! I try to workout outside as much as I can in the spring and summer - it just feels so good! It serves as a change of pace from the indoor gym throughout the winter months, I am happy that spring is near for more outdoor workouts! Save this workout to do today or just about any day you want to get a workout in outside!
Today’s Earth Day workout is going to get your heart rate up and is a fun way to mix things up outside. Try this as a 15 minute circuit! My advice would be to warm up for a minute or two, loosening up your muscles and getting them ready for your workout.
The Workout:
1. Resistance Band Rows: Wrap the band/ tube around a tree or a pole to pull (keeping elbows in close to your rib cage)
2. Quick Feet Cardio: quick feet over and behind the band/ tube. Keeping your hands above your heart to elevate heart rate
3. Resistance Band Chest Press: Wrap the band/ tube around a tree or poll and press
4. Medicine Ball Toe Taps: Cardio movement, tapping your toes lightly on the ball as quickly as possible to increase heart rate.
5. Resistance Band Squat and Curl
6. Slam Ball Squat and Press: Squat the slam ball all the way to the ground and reach overhead to press
7. “Slurpees": Slam the ball and then do a burpee = Slurpee :)
WORKOUT PACE:
Warm up for a minute or two to loosen up your muscles. Complete each exercise for a minute each. You will get through 1 round of each exercise for a minute each, take a 1 minute break and repeat the entire circuit again. You will complete the entire circuit a total of 2 times through, making this an effective 15 minute workout! Get outside, be creative, and get your EARTH DAY workout in!
